Worship Leader Job Post

Compensation: $15,600/year (adjustable based upon qualifications)
Hours: 15 hours/week (adjustable based upon qualifications)
Status: Part-Time

We are seeking a Worship Leader to help us engage our multi-generational and multi-ethnic church & community with Christ-centered, passionate worship. In 2025 we averaged 64 in attendance for Sunday worship. We have a small worship band (acoustic guitar, bass, drums, and several vocalists) which we hope to continually build up and engage in this ministry.

There are opportunities for this role to expand as the church grows!

We're Looking for Someone:

Gifted musically (guitar or piano/keyboard proficiency is desired)
Relational, humble, teachable, organized, and dependable
To lead a worship set that blends hymns and contemporary songs
To build up, train, and lead a worship band (and other volunteers)
To lovingly and wisely engage with our diverse community
Optional: A calling for pastoral ministry may qualify a man to also serve as an Associate Pastor
(which would come with increased responsibilities, hours, and compensation)

Primary Responsibilities:

In cooperation and coordination with the Senior Pastor...

Plan and conduct weekly worship services and special events (e.g. Christmas, Easter, etc.)
Support the organizational and technical needs of these services and events
Lead and develop our worship team, to include youth, men, and women
Recruit and coordinate volunteers (scripture readings, prayers, AV and media operators, etc.)
Optional: If also an Associate Pastor: Preach, teach, provide pastoral care, and leadership as assigned, engage more fully in church life beyond Sunday morning

Qualifications:

Salvation and believer’s baptism
Growing spiritual maturity and a love for the local church
Musical competence in leading worship with a band
Ability to lead with humility, emotional intelligence, and flexibility
Ability to collaborate and encourage unity, joy, and spiritual growth in a diverse community
Ability to communicate and work well with people of all ages and various backgrounds & values
Basic familiarity with sound systems, slides, and worship tech (or willingness to learn)
Aligned with the SBC Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and our church mission, values, and practice
